The zencontrol Web Switch Builder is a browser tool for designing custom touch-screen switch layouts for the zencontrol touch switch app. You build pages of buttons, sliders and displays, link them to real groups, devices, zones and system variables on a site, test them in a live preview and save the project as a file.

What you can build

  • Room controllers: scene buttons, on/off toggles and dimmers for a meeting room, hotel room or office.

  • Multi-page interfaces: a home page plus a page per room or floor, linked by a navigation menu.

  • Colour and tunable white control: colour pickers, RGBWAF channel sliders and colour temperature sliders.

  • Dashboards: live values from controller system variables, with + / - adjustment or a slider.

  • Interactive floor plans: tap a room on a plan to open its controls, jump to a page or send a command.

  • User scheduling: a button that lets the end user create time-based schedules.

What you need

ItemWhy
A current desktop browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari)The builder runs entirely in the browser; phones and tablets get a simplified layout
A zencontrol account with access to the siteRequired for My targets, which links widgets to the site's groups, devices, zones and variables
The site's controllers online in the zencontrol cloudTargets are read from the cloud; use Refresh and Re-sync IPs if a controller has changed

You can design, theme and preview a layout without signing in. Sign in when you are ready to link widgets to a site.

How a project is put together

  1. Panel settings set the screen size, orientation and menu for the whole project.

  2. Pages hold a grid (or a floor plan). Each page has its own rows, columns and background.

  3. Widgets sit on the grid. Each widget has appearance settings and, for controls, a target and command.

  4. Themes colour every page and widget through nine shared colour tokens.

  5. Preview lets you tap through the finished interface before saving.

Where to go next

The in-app guide is under the ? (Help) icon at the top right: Show onboarding tour replays the 7-step welcome tour and Documentation opens the built-in reference. The version number and What's new changelog are at the bottom of the widget toolbox.
