In about 10 minutes you can build a one-page room controller with two scene buttons, an on/off toggle and a dimmer, link it to a site and test it in Preview.

Before you start: have a zencontrol account with access to the site, and know which DALI groups you want to control.

1. Set up the panel

  1. Open switchcreator.zencontrol.link. A blank project opens with Page 1.

  2. Click an empty part of the canvas so the Page tab is showing in the right-hand panel.

  3. Under Panel settings, choose the Screen size of the target display (for example 7 inch (600x400) or 10 inch (800x533)) and the Orientation.

  4. Under Page properties, rename the page (for example Meeting room) and set Rows and Columns. A 4 x 6 grid suits large, touch-friendly buttons.

Panel settings: (1) Orientation, (2) Screen size, (3) Menu type

2. Add widgets

  1. In the Widgets toolbox on the left, double-clickCommand button. It drops into the first free grid cell. You can also drag it to a cell.

  2. Add a second Command button, an On/off button and an Arc slider the same way.

  3. Drag each widget to where you want it. Drag the handles on its edges to resize it, or set Column span and Row span in the Widget tab.

The widget toolbox: double-click or drag a widget to add it (1)

3. Label and style them

  1. Click a widget to select it. The right panel switches to the Widget tab.

  2. Set Widget name. This is the label shown on the button (for example Meeting, Presentation, Lights, Dimmer).

  3. Under Icon, click the icon field to choose an icon, or turn Show icon off.

  4. Leave colours on the theme tokens for now. You can restyle everything at once later with Themes.

4. Link them to the site

  1. Click My targets in the toolbar and choose Sign in with zencontrol.

  2. Pick the Site, open the Group tab under Site targets, tick the groups you need and click the > arrow (or double-click a row) to add them to My targets. Close the window.

  3. Select the first Command button. Under Command / Target, click Use my targets and pick a group.

  4. Set Switch type to Scene and Command preset to the scene number (for example Scene 1). Repeat for the second button with another scene.

  5. Select the On/off button, apply the same group, set Command preset to Recall MAX (on) and Command preset 2 to Off.

  6. Select the Arc slider and apply the group with Use my targets.

Command / Target for a scene button: (1) the applied target, (2) Switch type, (3) Command preset, (4) long-press and release actions

See Linking widgets to your site with My targets for the full target browser.

5. Preview and save

  1. Click Preview (top centre). Tap the buttons and drag the slider to check the layout and on-state colours.

  2. Use the device menu next to Exit preview to check the layout on other screen sizes.

  3. Click Exit preview, then Save. The project is saved as a .zen file.

Preview mode: (1) Exit preview, (2) the device menu, (3) an On/off button showing its on state
