SSD: What are the primary and secondary chips for inside of the Smart Switch Display?
This article outlines the purpose of the 2 processors used inside of the Smart Switch Display.
In an effort to ensure that zencontrol products can have a long service life, nearly all zencontrol products can be firmware updated via the DALI line. Firmware updates via the DALI line are specified under part 105 of the IEC 62386 standard.
Due to the complex nature of the Smart Switch Display, 2 separate processors are used:
| Chip | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Primary Chip | Handles wireless and DALI communication. |
| Secondary Chip | Runs the user interface. |
When requesting a firmware upgrade, you will see the following window
In this case, it suggests that the firmware updates will update the Primary processor to 2.97.0.0 but the secondary process will be upgraded to 1.41.0.0
