A handful of shortcuts and habits make building large projects much faster. The toolbar tooltips show the Ctrl versions; on a Mac, use Cmd in place of Ctrl.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Ctrl+Z | Undo |
| Ctrl+Shift+Z | Redo |
| Ctrl+C | Copy the selected widget |
| Ctrl+V | Paste a copy of the copied widget |
| Ctrl+D | Duplicate the selected widget |
| Delete | Delete the selected widget |
| Esc | Deselect / close a window or the layout editor |
| Tab | Move keyboard focus to the next control |
| Enter or Space | Add the focused widget from the toolbox |
Shortcuts work when focus is on the canvas, not inside a text field.
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Double-click a toolbox widget | Adds it to the first free cell |
| Right-click a widget | Duplicate, Delete |
| Right-click a page tab | Rename, Duplicate, Delete |
| Double-click a row in My targets | Moves it between Site targets and My targets |
| Drag on the grey area, or middle-mouse drag | Pans a zoomed-in canvas |
Set panel settings first. Screen size, orientation and grid size affect every widget; changing them later means re-checking every page.
Build one, duplicate many. Fully configure one button (style, icon, target, command), then Ctrl+D and change only the name, target or preset.
Duplicate pages. For several similar rooms, finish one room page, right-click its tab > Duplicate, then retarget the copy.
Use theme colours, not custom colours. A theme change then restyles everything at once.
Keep My targets short. Add only the targets the project uses; picking from a short list is quicker and less error-prone.
Step through widgets. The < n of N > arrows in the Widget tab let you check each widget's target and command in turn.
Save templates. Turn a finished standard layout into a template (Templates > Save current design) for the next job.
Record notes. Use Project metadata > Notes for the site, revision and anything the next person should know.
