Starting from a built-in template

The builder ships with 20 ready-made layouts. Applying one gives you a page of widgets, a screen size and a menu in a single click; you then rename the widgets and link them to your site.

Apply a template

  1. Click Templates in the toolbar.

  2. Hover over a template card. Two buttons appear:

    • Add to project adds the template as a new page in your current project (named after the template, for example Minimalist - Home).

    • Replace project clears the current project and loads the template in its place.

  3. Click the one you want. The template's page and its settings load into the editor.

  4. Select each widget, rename it and link it to a target (see Linking widgets to your site with My targets). Templates do not include targets.

The Templates window: (2) hover a card for Add to project or Replace project, (3) Import, Export and Save current design

Tip:Replace project discards your current work. Save first if you might need it.

For example, Conference room loads a 3 x 4 page called Main on a 10 inch (800x533) landscape screen with a top navigation menu, two scene buttons (Meeting, Presentation), two dimmers (Ambient, Task lights) and two further buttons.

Save your own templates

  1. Build the layout you want to reuse.

  2. Open Templates and click Save current design. It appears in your template list below the built-in ones.

  3. Use Export to share a template file with colleagues and Import to load one you have been sent.

Saved templates are a quick way to standardise a company layout, for example a branded meeting-room controller you install on every job.

After applying a template

  • Check Panel settings (screen size and orientation) match the real display.

  • Check label colours against button colours in Preview. In some templates a label uses the same colour as its button's off state and only shows when pressed; change Text colour if needed.

  • Swap the theme if you want a different look (see Themes and custom colour palettes).
